My name is GlobeyNFT and I am running for the Initial Council of the Harmony Community DAO.
This is my second entry in the “Road to the Community DAO” series.

2. Why their role in building the Community DAO represents one of the most important decisions in the growth of Harmony to date

WHAT is the job of the “Initial Council”?
(This section collects a number of points from previously published material, collected in one place to more easily understand the job of the Initial Council)

The Initial Council will be responsible for establishing the operational parameters of the DAO including:
- Further iterate on the pre-established mandate of
“Transparency” and “Engagement” by developing mechanisms for The Community DAO to accomplish all tasks while adhering to these core principles - Determining the guidelines and use of the DAOs funds
- How Persistant Council members are elected
- What Council Members responsibilities are
- How the DAO interacts with the community at large
- How proposals are made and voted upon
- Establish mechanisms for The Community DAO to interface and coordinate with other Harmony-centric DAOs as well as DAOs from other projects
- & more

Why is the Initial Council important?
(This section is my personal opinion on why the initial council can/are tasked with establishing a DAO that will last 100 years or more & why your vote to determine that council is critically important)
The above mentioned list should give a pretty clear primer of how important the job of the Initial council is, as they will be tasked to establish the framework the DAO will operate on for decades to come.
To quote Li Jiang “DAOs are the natural evolution of Harmony’s path toward ever greater decentralization”
The DAOs shown in the graphic below represent HOW decisions will be made for Harmony Protocol for the next 100 years or more, once fully implemented.
The Initial Council the Community DAO represents the cornerstone of this goal.
As noted by Li Jiang in — The Way of Harmony DAOs
“The Community DAO may also play the role of being a meta-DAO where the community works closely with the Harmony Foundation to propose future DAOs to create.”
Establishing the upcoming Community DAO as a centerpiece of the DAO ecosystem will require a substantial amount of time and effort from those elected to see this task to fruition over the next 3 months.
Their work will set the tone for the future of Harmony as the leader in DAO led governance and decentralization.

Conclusion
This is simply a primer on the importance of Initial Councils job responsibilities, and I will be working to publish further material on these topics through election day June 28.
